New Orleans Saints

Well, if you have read Macey's blog, you have seen the post about the Saints. The New Orleans Saints are my absolute favorite NFL team. Here is how it began...
Some time last year, near the end of football season, I kept seeing things on tv when my dad was watching sports about this team that I had never heard of before. There were many teams that I had never really heard of ,before last year, besides the ones you hear of all the time like the Colts, Giants, Bengals, Cowboys etc., but this team just kept popping up on commercials and such when I was in the room. Just a few days later my dad was watching a football game and I happened to ask who was playing. Oddly enough, he answered that the Saints and Bears were playing. I was curious and sat down and began watching which then the only football games I ever watched were Super Bowls. This all happened within a few days or a week. After that I started liking them. I don't think that they were very good last year that is why I never heard of them before. Years and years ago even the fans wore paper bags over their heads when they went to Saints games because they were ashamed. Anyway, when I started talking about them and wearing Saints apparel, my friends would laugh at me because they wondered why I liked this team that they had never even heard of and who didn't even play very well. I stuck with my team and was excited about this football season.
Well, right now after 11 games played this season, the Saints are one out of two teams undefeated! They have played amazing this year and are getting quite popular. Monday night, in fact, they crushed the Patriots (who were recently in the super bowl) 38 to 17. I am still very proud of the boys and keep up with them now. I started liking them when they were uncool and not very good, but they have come back and gotten a name for themselves. It makes me so happy. Now my friends are even starting to like them and watch their games. Anyway, that is the story. The Saints will be playing the Redskins Sunday. Go Saints!!!

FRIDAY!

Yesterday was a great day. Right when school started we had P.E. outside. It was beautiful weather even though it was 8:00 in the morning and the next to last day of Oct.
After we had a random cellphone, ipod, camera, all of the forbidden stuff at our school check, we began Mrs. Harris's class which is math and science. First let me tell you there are so few people at our school that all of us in high school are in the same classroom. Anyway, during the science part of the morning, the juniors who were doing chemistry were boiling water in a beaker on a ring stand over a burner on the table in the room. While we freshman were doing algebra or balancing equations, we heard a crash at the table where the lab was taking place.

Let me back up for a moment. Earlier that morning one of the girls kept asking the one boy in the class to kill this annoying fly that would not leave us alone. So here is where I will start again:
Apparently he smacked at the fly on the table (most likely trying to keep them quiet about the whole fly deal) but when he did so, the unstable ringstand fell over dropping the beaker that was on it and spilling the water that was beginning to boil. The water (maybe the hot beaker or the burner, I never figured that one out) touched one of the girls on her bare arm. When it did so she quickly (probably out of fright since she was sitting in front of it and felt it) scooted backwards slamming the door as she did so. (There might have even been a scream, I can't remember.) It all happened very quickly causing a lot of noise and chaos. I am surprised no one came running in. Anyway, everyone was all right and they began to clean it all up. They then started again, either on the same lab or a different one, while Mrs. Harris checked our balanced equations with us. I had noticed earlier, and I am sure other classmates did too, that the ringstand was quite wabbly. Soon after we heard another crash and a loud sizzling noise. We all looked over from the freshman table and saw that the ringstand had fallen again, but this time the water was really boiling and had spilled out onto the table and the chair and sounded like it was sizzling. What was weird was that none of the juniors were even touching the table. The ringstand, apparently, could not hold the beaker anymore, so just fell all by itself. They then just realized that the lab wasn't meant to be and began to clean up again. We all then recounted what had happened. As we were talking we realized there were many things we should be thankful about. Number one, when the first incident had happend and the girl had been touched with the boiling water, we realized that that could have been acid and she cold have been seriously injured. Secondly, when it all collapsed the second time, the same girl that had been touched with the boiling water was not in her same seat she had beeen in before (and not wearing her lab apron ), which if she would have been this time she would have been scalded with the boiling water which poured out over her previous seat. And thirdly, if it had been acid the second time it could have eaten away at the table and chairs (which is way not as important as if it would have done that to a person, but it would still have been bad). We freshman then got ready for our science lab, this time putting weights on the ringstand. Nothing went wrong that time, luckily, and when we were done all of us got granola bars and suckers because we were hungry and our stomachs were growling.
That is a simple example I made on the computer to show you what a ring stand is and such, so you can better understand the whole incident. Sorry it is so small, but if you click on the picture of it, it should enlarge.
Later that afternoon, we had history summaries, so all of us in high school (we all do the same history since there are so few of us) put our desks in a circle and had a little "discussion". Really it was for our summaries that were over the crusades. The funny thing about that was two of the boys (who were in a group) did their summaries which made us laugh, a lot. That is a whole other story in itself.
After school we had praise band practice which is always a lot of fun. Then Whitney drove us home from school in the truck, and we got ready for her big family birthday party. It was a lot of fun even though only two of our cousins could come out of 9 cousins and 1 "cousin-in-all"but like 2 live in England, 2 in Lexington, some had to practice for their concert tomorrow, etc. Some aunt and uncles came and Mime and Papaw, so it was still alot of fun. The five of us cousins (which is including Whitney, me , and our brother) jumped on the trampoline in the dark. The food and the cake were delicious which my brother cooked and baked. (He is only 11.) It was a lot of fun and we laughed a lot. After everyone left I soon fell asleep.

So those were the highlights of my Friday. Hope you had a great one too.

Wow! I haven't written since late July. I am sorry. Anyway, a lot has gone on in that span of time, so I won't expand on the many things that have happened in my life since then. If you have kept up with Whitney and Macey's blogs then you have really read about everything exciting that has gone on, so I will just start from today.
I spent the night with Macey again last night and we had a lot of fun, but then we got ready and went to our friend's dad's visitation who passed away Wednesday night, then on to a youth Halloween party.( It wasn't like all halloween or anything, we just had a bonfire, delicious food, and a hay ride... and there were a lot more activities, but we didn't have time for them.) Anyway, that was a lot of fun even though no one went but a few kids from our school.
So I finally posted again. YAY! I will post later, I promise this time. : )

The Excitng Week Ahead... and the Past Week

I am sorry I haven't posted for a while. Thursday my mom, sister, brother, and I left for Aldersgate. We stayed at my aunt, uncle, and cousins' house on the camp grounds and had so much fun. We got to eat some meals at the lodge and see the fun staff. We took many walks, then Friday our cousin Leanndra got home from the Governor's Scholar Progam she had been at for like 5 weeks. We hung out with her at Aldersgate and took more walks, watched one camp's talent show, watched some of a camp's horse show, went to an old tree house, sang songs while Ne played guitar, AND went to a creekside campfire that night. We had soo muh fun, but left Friday night with our cousin Andrew to go to their other house in Lexington and drop him off at a party. Saturday we didn't really do much in Lexington, but today(Sunday) we visited the church our Aunt Debbie preaches at (St. Luke UMC) and really haven't done too much either. Now though we have to get ready for bed so that we can get up early and take my brother back to Aldersgate Camp for his Elementary Cabin Camp. Then we are coming home so we can go to our cousin Randee's bridal shower tomorrow afternoon. We have had a pretty busy few days away from home and this week is probably going to be even more busy. We have two showers/parties for our cousin Randee because her wedding is Saturday, and our cousin Lauren is coming back from a mission trip in the southern states. Our family from England also came in, so we will be visiting with them a lot this week, then we have Randee and Mark's wedding at Aldersgate. I am so very excited for that too. I just love to be in the Aldersgate atmosphere.( At the wedding I get to see like all of my family, some of my friends, some people from church, some of my camp friends, and the Aldersgate staff. YAY!) Anyway, as you can guess I have a busy week ahead of me, but I am thrilled about every single thing (with the wedding as the finale thing of the week.) Well, I will post later, but with this week ahead I don't know when I will have time. I am just very excited about all that will take place this week. I really cannot say anything else besides excited. : ) For now, Good Night.

My Saturday

Well, today I got up early and went with my dad and cousin Andrew to camp to pick up my sister who was counseling a camp and drop Andrew off at his house at Aldersgate camp. (Whoo! that was a long sen.) I really didn't have a reason to go other than just being in the camp atmosphere for the few minutes that we were there picking up Ne. I just love camp and am willing to get up early and sit in the car for 5 hours to be back at camp for about 10 minutes. Sounds crazy, doesn't it. I enjoyed the ride down with my dad and cousin Andrew and iced honey bun and chocolate milk. I also enjoyed seeing the staff and my aunt and uncle once we were at camp.
On the way back, Ne told me stories about last week and still had some from the previous week before since she hadn't been home. We stopped at Dairy Queen for lunch, and I finally had the chicken basket which was delicious. Then I fell asleep practically the rest of the way home (except for when I was making funny faces at Ne.) When I got home I was still very tired, so I took a nap until 7:00. After that Ne and I talked more about camp, looked at pictures, and found old camp pics. (It was really neat because my sister and I found people in our pictures that we didn't realize we had gone to camps with before but are now good friends with them because of recent camps. Sounds confusing.)
I really haven't done much today, but I am excited because we are getting ready to have chicken and pie. My family really does not have much of a schedule in the summer, if you are wondering why we are not eating "supper" till after 11:00. I do though need to go to bed soon because we have church in the morning.
Sorry if this was a boring post, but I will post later.

Entertainment with Friends

Well, I am very happy that I got a blog today because I have had an eventful day. First my Scout's mom, that is Macey's mom, picked us up from our teacher's house because we spent the night with her last night. ( We came up with the nicknames, Sport and Scout, there.) That was a lot of fun, as you have probably heard all about it on Macey's blog. Then I went to Macey's house and just hung out for a while. We ate twizzlers the whole time we were on the computer, "tanned" through the window (don't ask), played the game of Mash (results are on Macey's page), wrote a song about corn dogs (well, Macey didn't), and just waited for someone to get on the computer so that Macey could talk to them while I was there ( she needed support.) Most of this sounds pointless (and it kind of is), but I really can't describe how Macey and I entertain each other. Most people don't understand us, but that is okay. So far this day has been pretty good, but you see it is kind of lonely around here because my sister is counseling a camp this week and my brother is at my Mimi and Papaw's for a week with our other boy cousins for their own type of camp. That is why I find enjoyment in writing songs about corn dogs right now. Well, I might just call Macey now.
